HARRISONBURG, Va. – Despite goals from Addison Soehn and Carson Glenn, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Soccer team dropped a 3–2 decision to Sun Belt Conference rival James Madison Friday night at Sentara Park.
The loss moved Louisiana to 5-5-4 overall and 2-2-3 in SBC play, while the Dukes improved to 7-3-5 and 3-1-3, respectively.
Louisiana jumped ahead early in the 10th minute when Soehn netted her second goal of the season off a pass from Maiya Clark. James Madison answered six minutes later on Ginny Lackey's first of an eventual hat trick, assisted by Jeanette Fieldsend, to send the teams into halftime tied 1-1.
Lackey struck again in the 66th minute with an unassisted goal to give JMU its first lead of the night at 2-1. Glenn pulled the Ragin' Cajuns even at 2-2 in the 80th minute, scoring her team-leading fifth goal of the year off a rebound in front of goal.
Just six minutes later, Lackey scored her 10th goal of the season and completed the hat trick, converting a penalty kick in the 86th minute to seal the win for the Dukes.
