Ragin' Cajuns to honor senior class prior to match

LAFAYETTE – With the team still in contention for a berth in the Sun Belt Conference Women's Soccer Championships, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns close out its regular-season home schedule on Thursday when it plays host to Troy at the Home Bank Track/Soccer Complex.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., and admission is free. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Graham Doty (pxp) and Scott Brazda (color) providing commentary. Live stats will be available at CajunStats.com.

Prior to the match, Louisiana will honor its senior class – defenders Perri Belzer and Anna Grassinger along with goalkeeper Libby Harper.

Louisiana (2-7-5, 1-4-2 SBC), which will wrap up the regular season with matches at App State (Oct. 23) and Southern Miss (Oct. 27), notched its first victory in league play last Sunday in a 3-0 win at ULM. Karleen Bedre and Ruthny Mathurin each provided a goal and assist to lead the Ragin' Cajuns with Harper recording five saves to pitch the shutout. The win helped Louisiana move into a 10th-place tie with Troy (3-7-3, 1-4-2 SBC), Southern Miss and Marshall in the league standings and remain in contention for a spot in the SBC Championships, which begin Oct. 31, in Foley, Ala.
