Cajuns, Bulldogs to meet on pitch for first time as league foes

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team closes out its 2026 home schedule on Sunday when it plays host to in-state rival and Sun Belt Conference opponent Louisiana Tech in the annual Pink Match at the Home Bank Soccer and Track Complex.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+. Admission to the match is free.

Louisiana (9-5-3, 3-3-2 SBC) looks to solidify its position in the Sun Belt Conference standings with the SBC Championships scheduled for Nov. 9-14 in Foley, Ala. The Ragin' Cajuns look to turn around a 1-3-1 mark in the final month following a 3-1 setback at in-state foe ULM on Thursday.

Miku Kurihara scored her 12th goal of the season – one off the single-season record set by UL Hall of Fame member Yazmin Montoya in 2013. Natalie Mayes became the second goalkeeper in program history to eclipse the 5,000-minute mark in a career (5,029) for the Ragin' Cajuns.

Louisiana Tech (4-10-2, 2-5-1 SBC) remains in contention for a postseason berth, needing wins over Louisiana and South Alabama. Madison Pensom has scored a team-high eight goals and 17 points for the Bulldogs with freshman goalkeeper Mackenzie Lorkowski stopping 113 shots and posting a 2.33 goals against average.
