Louisiana faces UTSA in season-opener on Thursday

LAFAYETTE - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's soccer team heads west for its final exhibition match prior to opening the regular-season next week when it visits McNeese in a 7 p.m. match on Sunday at Cowgirl Field.

Louisiana dropped its exhibition opener on Friday at Southeastern Louisiana, 2-0, as the Lady Lions scored twice in the third period. The exhibition match consisted of three 30-minute periods.

The Ragin' Cajuns open the regular-season under first-year coach Lance Key on Thursday against UTSA in the Cardinal Classic in Beaumont, Texas. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. Louisiana will close out the opening week of a season-opening four-match road trip facing Lamar on Aug. 25 at 7:30 p.m.

Louisiana will travel to face both Northern Illinois (Aug. 30) and Chicago State (Sept. 1) before facing Southern University in the 2019 home opener on Sept. 5 at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Complex.
