Promotion: Before Sunday's match, the UL Athletic Training staff will be speaking to kids about the importance of being active as part of "Get Up & Play Day". At halftime, kids will get an opportunity to participate in a shooting contest.

LAFAYETTE, La. – After a 5-1 victory over Texas Southern last weekend, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team returns to action with a road contest against Louisiana Tech on Friday at 7 p.m. in Ruston before beginning a five-match homestand Sunday at 1 p.m. against Lamar.
Freshman forward Danielle DeRosa recorded two goals, including the game winner, to help the Ragin' Cajuns to a dominant 5-1 triumph over the Lady Tigers on Sunday. In the match, sophomore forward Annika Schmidt and sophomore Kimberly Grasso scored their first goals of the season while freshman forward Denice Emokpae notched her second goal of the year in the win.
Scouting the Lady Techsters (5-0-1, 0-0-0 C-USA)
- Louisiana Tech has posted wins over Troy, Louisiana College, Lewis, Eastern Illinois and Southern
- The Lady Techsters were picked to finish 12th in Conference USA
- Junior midfielder Brittany Beddow and senior defender Taylor Dennis lead Louisiana Tech with four goals apiece
Scouting the Lady Cardinals (1-4-0, 0-0-0 SLC)
- After claiming a season-opening win over San Jose State, the Lady Cardinals have dropped four-straight contests (Cal Poly, Rice, North Texas and Texas State) and have been limited to just one goal in those four matches
- Before their match in Lafayette, the Lady Cardinals will host Texas Southern on Friday at home to wrap up a four-match homestand
- Lamar was picked to finish eighth in the Southland Conference in the coaches and SID polls
- Senior forward/midfielder Kimmy Albeno and freshman forward Alexus Aviles have each recorded one goal apiece to lead the Lady Cardinals in scoring
Preseason Accolades
- Louisiana was picked to finish second in the Sun Belt Conference preseason poll, voted on by the league's 10 head coaches, behind 2013 NCAA Tournament participant South Alabama
- The Ragin' Cajuns totaled a league-high three preseason all-conference selections - Grace Howell-Harries (Senior defender), Yazmin Montoya (Sophomore forward) and Annika Schmidt (Sophomore forward)
- Howell-Harries also garnered SBC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year honors after earning the award following the 2013 season
Against Louisiana Tech
- Louisiana is 1-1 all-time against the Lady Techsters, dropping a 3-2 match in Lafayette last season
- The Ragin' Cajuns opened the series against Louisiana Tech back in 2004, defeating the Lady Techsters at home, 6-0

DeRosa Making Her Mark
- It's not a surprise for Ragin' Cajuns fans to see a freshman pacing the squad
- In 2013, freshmen Yazmin Montoya and Annika Schmidt totaled 54 of the team's 93 points during the season to earn all-conference honors
- This season, freshman Danielle DeRosa is off to a quick start with a team-high four goals and nine points in five matches
- In the Sun Belt Conference, DeRosa is tied for second with her four goals and two game winners
- Nationally, she is tied for 45th in the nation in goals and 15th in the country in game winners

- Senior defender Grace Howell-Harries has been a consistent leader for the Ragin' Cajuns for several seasons, and her numbers prove it
- Howell-Harries has started every game of her career, now at 63, which places her 10th all-time in career starts
