Ragin' Cajuns look to build on program-best 10-match start
NORFOLK, Va. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Soccer team looks to build on its best 10-match start in program history when it travels to face Old Dominion in a Sun Belt Conference match on Thursday at the ODU Soccer Complex.
Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m., CT with the match scheduled to be streamed live by ESPN+.
Louisiana (7-2-1, 1-0-0 SBC) opened league play last Sunday with a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Coastal Carolina. Maiya Clark and Miku Kurihara each scored goals before Carson Glenn's goal in the 69th minute proved to be the game-winner.
Kurihara (9 goals, 3 assists, 21 points) leads the Sun Belt Conference in goals and points with Glenn (6 goals, 4 assists, 16 points) scoring five of her six goals during Louisiana's current three-match win streak. Addison Soehn (1 goal, 5 assists, 6 points) and Maria Reyes (2 goals, 1 assist, 5 points).
ODU (3-5-0, 1-0-0 SBC) earned its first SBC victory of the year with a 1-0 shutout at ULM last Friday.
The Monarchs enter the week with a plus-one goal differential through eight matches, having scored 10 goals while allowing nine. Hannah Morgan leads the Monarchs in both goals and points, scoring four goals for a team-high eight points.
Riley Mullen is tied for second on the team with four points and leads ODU with three assists.
Ellie Goodrich has started four matches in goal and has recorded two shutouts while making 13 saves. Goodrich was named the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after posting a shutout against ULM.
