The Ragin’ Cajuns close the non-conference schedule this week on the road
OXFORD, Mississippi - The Louisiana soccer team opens a three-game road trip on Thursday when it takes on Ole Miss at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium in Oxford.
The Cajuns fell at home the last time out in an entertaining 2-1 contest against Rice. The sides combined for 28 shots in Louisiana's final non-conference home match. Maiya Clark scored her second goal of the season to tie the game in the 67th minute, but a late goal by Rice flipped the result in the end. Clark is one of three Ragin' Cajuns with two goals on the year, joining Salma Elhaimer and Carson Glenn to lead the team through five games.
Ole Miss comes into action with a 3-1 record, including a win over a Sun Belt Conference opponent in Southern Miss, 1-0. All four of the Rebels' contests this season have been decided by a goal this year, including the last two by a 1-0 score.

- Louisiana faces Ole Miss for the first time since 2018, looking for its first win in the series.
- Thursday begins a three-game road trip for the Ragin' Cajuns.
- With the 4-1 win over Lamar, Louisiana had a record-setting performance. The four goals were the second-most in program history in a season opener, and it was the second-largest margin of victory to start the year, behind a 10-0 win over Jackson State in 2003.
- Carson Glenn's penalty kick goal against Lamar was Louisiana's first attempt and make since Karleen Bedre's goal at Arkansas State on Oct. 6, 2022.
- The Ragin' Cajuns had one of the best defensive seasons in school history in 2024. They allowed just 1.10 goals per game, the fewest in school history, while posting seven shutouts.
- Louisiana is coming off back-to-back seven-win campaigns in 2023 and 2024. It's just the fourth time in program history the Cajuns have won seven or more games in back-to-back seasons (2006-07, 2012-16, 2019-20).
- The Cajuns went 7-5-8 last season for a .550 winning percentage, the best in school history. The five losses were the fewest by the Cajuns, and the eight draws in a season were a program record.
- Natalie Mayes recorded the 10th shutout of her career against UTRGV, becoming the fourth player in school history to do so. The junior is just one behind Stephanie Weston and Amanda Moorefield for the school record of 11.
