The Ragin’ Cajuns welcome Georgia Southern to town for the first time since 2019
LAFAYETTE - Coming off a road win last week, the Louisiana soccer team looks to continue that momentum on Sunday when they host Georgia Southern on Sunday at the Home Bank Soccer and Track Complex.
The Cajuns earned their first win at App State since 2014 last week. Carson Glenn's goal in the 31st minute was the difference as the defense posted its third shutout victory of the season.
Georgia Southern is one of three teams in Sun Belt Conference play with just one point through three games, joining App State and Troy. The Eagles drew with Marshall to open conference play before back-to-back losses to Texas State and James Madison. They've struggled on the road to a 1-5-1 record, with their only win coming at Western Carolina.

- The Ragin' Cajuns welcome the Eagles to Lafayette for the first time since 2019, a 2-0 Cajun victory.
- This marks the first meeting between the two schools since 2023. Only three Cajuns on the current roster, Sisley Stephens, Briana Henry, and Liberty Plasek, appeared in that game, with Henry scoring the team's lone goal.
- Sunday's victory, Louisiana's first at App State since 2014, improved Louisiana to a 2-1-3 record on the road over the last two seasons in Sun Belt Conference play.
- Louisiana is second in the league in shots with 152.
- Louisiana's 15.2 shots per game would rank the fourth most in a single season in program history.
- The team's 1.10 goals against average would match last season for the fewest in school history.
- Natalie Mayes recorded the 11th shutout of her career against App State, tying her with Stephanie Weston and Amanda Moorefield for the school record of 11.
- Mayes is tied for the SBC lead in shutouts with three this season.
