Cajuns Downed in SBC Opener at South Alabama

Louisiana returns home on Thursday after a three-match road swing
MOBILE, Alabama - Wrapping up a three-match road stretch, the Louisiana soccer team fell 3-0 to South Alabama in its Sun Belt Conference opener on Saturday in Mobile, Alabama.
Louisiana was outshot by their opponent all season, as South Alabama had 13 shots to five for the Cajuns. The Cajuns had three shots on target, with Carson Glenn recording two and Addison Soehn having the other. Natalie Mayes had three saves in the effort.
Things were scoreless for the majority of the opening half but the Jags found the back of the net in the 42nd minute to take a 1-0 lead into the locker room. Louisiana looked to equalize but in the 56th minute the home side doubled its lead. South Alabama would put the game out of reach in the 75th minute with their third goal of the night.
Louisiana finally returns home to host Arkansas State on Thursday with a 7 p.m. start from the Home Bank Soccer & Track Complex.
