Golf Wraps Up Play at Mossy Oak Collegiate

Louisiana heads back to Magnolia State for SBC Championships
WEST POINT, Miss. - Jake Marler fired a final round score of 1-over-par 73 and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team wrapped up its first of two trips to the state of Mississippi with a 12th-place finish at the Mossy Oak Collegiate on Tuesday at Mossy Oak Golf Club.
Louisiana, which will compete in the Sun Belt Conference Championships beginning on April 22 in Madison, Miss., posted a team score of 304 for the round and finished at 884 for the 54-hole event. Second-ranked Auburn obliterated the 14-team field finishing at 46-under-818 for the tournament and 34 strokes ahead of second-place Ole Miss.
Eli Ortego fired a 4-over-76 in the final round and led Louisiana for the event finishing at 2-over-218. Malan Potgieter finished at 222 overall with Marler shooting a 224 for the tournament. Burke Alford posted a 54-hole score of 227 with Dylan Keating finishing at 228.
Auburn (818), Ole Miss (852), Cincinnati (856), host Mississippi State (858) and Liberty (859) rounded out the top-five in the field.
Brendan Valdes and J.M Butler of Auburn shared medalist honors at 12-under-204 for the event with AU teammates Jackson Koivin (206), Carson Bacha (207) and Josiah Gilbert (209) completing the top five individuals.
