Louisiana looks to build momentum heading into SBC Championships
WEST POINT, Miss. - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team makes its final tuneup prior to the Sun Belt Conference Championships later this month when it opens play on Monday at Mississippi State's Mossy Oak Collegiate at Mossy Oak Golf Club.
The first two rounds on Monday will begin with a 36-hole shotgun start at 8 a.m. The final round of the 54-hole event on Tuesday begins at 8 a.m. with a fixed start from the No. 1 and No. 10 tees. Live results for the event will be available at GolfStat.com.
Louisiana joins host and No. 26-ranked Mississippi State in the 14-team field which includes two top-5 squads - No. 2 Auburn and No. 5 Ole Miss. Also included in the tournament is Augusta, Cincinnati, Kansas State, Liberty, Little Rock, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, New Mexico State, Southern Miss and Troy.
Malan Potgieter, who turned in a top-five performance at Texas A&M's Aggie Invitational, will lead Louisiana in its final regular-season event prior to the SBC Championships in Madison, Miss., on April 21-24. The sophomore will be joined in the lineup by Dylan Keating, Eli Ortego, Jake Marler and Burke Alford.
