Ragin’ Cajuns Set to Host the Louisiana Classics

Louisiana found themselves on the podium 21 times last weekend
LAFAYETTE, Louisiana - A week after finding themselves on the podium 21 times the Louisiana track and field team will host the Louisiana Classics starting at 8 a.m. at the Home Bank Soccer & Track Complex on Saturday.
FULL SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
The Ragin' Cajuns started the outdoor season strong at the McNeese Cowboy Invite. Louisiana claimed six first-place finishes in Lake Charles. Jordan Brown started the day by clearing 11 ft. 5.75 in. in the pole vault on the first try, just edging out teammate Lauren Roberts who completed it on her second attempt.
The Cajuns went back-to-back in the 4x200 relay. Ta'La Spates, Moseiha Bridgen, Amairi Ashford, and Mari Robinson took the top spot with a time of 1:39.45. Ashford also won the 100 with a time of 11.82 seconds.
Reem Tammam had a big day with a pair of podium finishes. She placed first in the triple jump with a distance of 38 feet 7 inches and took second in the long jump with a distance of 18 feet 5.75 inches.
On the men's side, Jeremy Nelson claimed the top spot in the triple jump with a distance of 48 feet 8.75 inches. Cole Palmer also had a first-place showing in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.08 seconds.
It'll be an all Louisiana contest this Saturday with Dillard, McNeese, Nicholls, Northwestern State, Southeastern, Southern, Tulane, ULM, and Xavier scheduled to compete.
