Louisiana Track and Field Preview: at LSU Alumni Gold

Cajuns head east to compete against solid field highlighted by LSU, North Carolina
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team travels to Baton Rouge on Saturday to compete in the LSU Alumni Gold at Bernie Moore Track Stadium.
The meet begins at 10 a.m. with field events and continues through the afternoon, featuring athletes from across Louisiana and the Southeast in one of the premier late-season meets on the outdoor calendar.
Louisiana will be well represented across sprints, distance, jumps and throws, using the meet as an opportunity to fine-tune performances ahead of the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Championships.
In the relays, the Cajuns will field teams in both the men's and women's 4x100-meter events. The women's quartet of Jakyra Edwards, Tijuanique Morton, Quincy Simon and Chaniqua Tonge is set to compete, while the men's group features Zakhy Munro, Mark Daley, Chris Gravois and Camren Hardy. Louisiana will also compete in the women's 4x400-meter relay later in the day.
The Cajuns' distance group will be active in the 1,500 meters, led by Isabelle Russell, Ella Segura, Juliana Courville and Brooke Spalitta highlighting the women's side, along with Matthew Maynard in the men's race. Louisiana will also see entries in the 800 and 3,000 meters, including Spencer Frierson and Peyton Bourgeois.
In the hurdles, Kobe Mendez is slated to compete in the men's 110-meter hurdles, while Moseiha Bridgen, Twyshanna Huie and Shenell Tucker highlight Louisiana's entries in the women's 400-meter hurdles.
Louisiana's sprint corps will be active throughout the meet, including entries in the 200-meter dash with Tonge and Morton, along with Daley, Munro and Hardy on the men's side.
In the field events, the Cajuns will be represented across multiple disciplines. In the throws, Laila Guy is scheduled to compete in both the hammer throw and shot put, while Praiyer Jones and Devonte Edwards will take part in the men's shot put and discus. Kimola Hines will represent Louisiana in the women's discus.
In the jumps, Louisiana will see action from Reem Tammam in the long jump and triple jump, Daijah Miller in the triple, while Alaysha Veal is set for the high jump. The Cajuns will also be represented in the pole vault by Lauren Roberts, Jasmine Sakaguchi and Teodor Borgius.
In the javelin, William Howard, Robert Conley and Jemar Ferguson will compete on the men's side, while Emma Bacilla and Ellie Manuel are entered in the women's competition.
