Cajuns Post Solid Performances at Pepsi Florida Relays

Miller, Hines etch names in record book with top-10 performances

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team posted a series of solid performances against a deep field at the Pepsi Florida Relays, which concluded Saturday at Percy Beard Track at James G. Pressly Stadium.
 
On the track, Louisiana was led in the 100 meters by Mark Daley, who placed 29th with a time of 10.51 seconds. Camren Hardy (10.52) and Garry Munro (10.57) followed closely behind, finishing 31st and 34th, respectively.
 
Caemon Scott turned in a time of 47.82 seconds in the 400 meters to place 43rd.
 
In the 110-meter hurdles, Michael Frazier III paced the Cajuns with a 23rd-place finish in 14.47 seconds. Kobe Mendez (14.58) and Federico Bovo (14.63) finished 25th and 28th, respectively.
 
Louisiana saw strong showings in the throws, led by Devonte Edwards, who placed 10th in both the discus (48.95m/160-7) and shot put (16.89m/55-5). Praiyer Jones added a 14th-place finish in the discus (46.75m/153-4) and placed 15th in the shot put (16.67m/54-8.25).
 
In the high jump, Kaleb Goodly and Kyron Sumler each cleared 1.99 meters (6-6.25) to tie for ninth place.
 
On the women's side, Daijah Miller led the way with a fifth-place finish in the triple jump, recording a mark of 12.67 meters (41-7) – the sixth-best mark in program history. Reem Tammam placed 13th in the same event at 12.23 meters (40-1.5).
 
Kimola Hines turned in one of the top performances of the meet for Louisiana, finishing ninth in the discus with a mark of 49.02 meters (160-10), the sixth-best throw in program history.
 
Laila Guy added an 11th-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 13.29 meters (43-7.25).
 
Louisiana returns to action on Friday with another trip to an SEC competition, traveling to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the Crimson Tide Classic at Sam Bailey Track & Field Stadium.
