Three golfers shoot even-par; Cajuns to tee off final round at 9:20 a.m.
DALLAS – Three Louisiana golfers posted an even-par 72 and the Ragin' Cajuns posted a team score of 2-over-290 to finish in sixth place after the second day of the Trinity Forest Invitational on Monday at Trinity Forest Golf Club.
The final round of the 54-hole event will begin on Tuesday at 8:25 a.m. Louisiana, which will be paired with Loyola Marymount and San Francisco, will tee off beginning at 9:20 a.m. Live scoring for the event will be available at Scoreboard.clippd.com.
Malan Potgieter, Carter Schmitt and Dylan Keating each paced Louisiana, which finished at 9-under-567 after 36 holes and four strokes behind USF for fifth place in the 15-team field. Eli Ortego posted a 2-over-74 for the Ragin' Cajuns with Burke Alford shooting a 4-over 76.
Potgieter wrapped up the second day for Louisiana at 3-under-par 141 to rank 26th overall in the field. Schmitt and Alford concluded the round at 1-under-143 for the Ragin' Cajuns with Ortego at even-par 144 and Keating at 1-over-145.
Kyle Bennett, competing as an individual, carded a 3-over-75 in the second round to finish at 2-over-146 after 36 holes.
UNLV, paced by overall leader Zach Little's 8-under-64, finished as the second-day leader after shooting a 15-under-273 to finish at 550 overall. First-day leader USC was one stroke back at 551 with host SMU (553), Loyola Marymount (557) and USF (563) rounding out the top-5.
