Ragin' Cajuns Start Play Sunday at SMU's Trinity Forest Invitational

DALLAS – Coming off its best performance of the 2024 Fall Schedule, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team heads to the Lone Star State to participate SMU's Trinity Forest Invitational, which begins on Sunday at Trinity Forest Golf Club.

The 54-hole event begins on Sunday with a 15-team field playing 18 holes daily. Live results for the event will be available at Scoreboard.clippd.com.

Louisiana will join host SMU in the field, along with Abilene Christian, Furman, Louisiana Tech, Loyola Marymount, NC State, North Texas, Rice, San Francisco, UNLV, USC, UT Arlington, UTRGV and UTSA.

The Ragin' Cajuns earned a third-place finish at the Git-R-Done Invitational on Sept. 23-24 in Lincoln, Nebraska with Eli Ortego earning a fifth-place finish. Malan Potgieter and Carter Schmitt each finished in the top-20 for the Ragin' Cajuns, who finished with a team score of 5-over-par 857 overall.

Ortego (71.33 scoring average) will lead Louisiana in the No. 1 slot in the lineup with Potgieter (71.17) and Schmitt (71.33) filling the No. 2 and 3 spots. Dylan Keating (75.33) will compete in the No. 4 spot for Louisiana with Burke Alford (74.00) rounding out the Ragin' Cajuns lineup.

Kyle Bennett, who debuted at the Argent Financial Classic last month, will compete as an individual.
