Cajuns Head To Little Rock For Everett Buick GMC Classic

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Coming off its third top-5 finish of the fall season, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team opens play on Monday in the 16-team Everett Buick GMC Classic on the Founders Course at Chenal Country Club.

The 54-hole event begins on Monday at 8:30 a.m. with the teams playing a 36-hole shotgun start before concluding on Tuesday with the final 18 holes at 9 a.m. Live scoring will be available at RaginCajuns.com.

Louisiana joins former SBC member and host Little Rock in the field along with Ball State, Central Arkansas, Kansas City, Lamar, Lipscomb, Memphis, North Texas, Oral Roberts, SIU-Edwardsville, South Carolina, Southern Illinois, Troy, UAB, and ULM.

The Ragin' Cajuns, who will be paired with Lipscomb, North Texas and Troy in Monday's competition, finished fifth overall at last week's Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas. Malan Potgieter, Dylan Keating and Eli Ortego each posted rounds in the 60's to cap the event as Louisiana posted its best 54-hole score (18-under-846) of the season.

Potgieter, who leads Louisiana with a 70.56 scoring average, has recorded six rounds of par or below in nine rounds of play during the fall schedule, including four rounds in the 60's. He will be joined in the lineup by Ortego (71.22) and Keating (73.17) along with Kyle Bennett (74.33) and Burke Alford (73.33). Carter Schmitt, coming off a 4-over-par 220 at last week's event, will compete as an individual.
