The Cajuns look to beat Texas State for the second time in as many weeks

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – Riding a four-game winning streak, the Louisiana men's basketball team looks to make it five in a row on Sunday at noon against Texas State. The Cajuns returned from a four-game road trip to hold off Arkansas State on Friday, 81-75.

Kobe Julien continues to score in bunches after finishing with 21 points on Friday. He did the majority of his damage from the free throw line, going 10-of-12 from the charity stripe. Themus Fulks was also clutch for the Cajuns, going 9-for-10 from the line, and finished with 13 points with five assists. Hosana Kitenge added 13 points with eight rebounds while Kentrell Garnett finished with 12 points. Joe Charles was a point away from a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Bobcats have struggled of late, losing eight of their last nine. Their offense has been cold, only reaching 80 points in a game once during that stretch. Jordan Mason leads the offense at 13.2 points per game while Brandon Love adds 11.3 points to the offense.

Story Lines
• Louisiana has hit a three in 599 straight games, dating back to January 29, 2005. That streak includes the 442 games of the Bob Marlin era.
• 80 is the magic number of late for the Cajuns. Their last six wins have come when they've scored at least 80 points. The team is 8-1 when scoring 80+ points this season.
• After struggling for the first three games of Sun Belt Conference play, Kobe Julien is averaging 20.6 points over his last five games and scored at least 20 in four of those contests. The junior leads the conference in scoring at 18.2 points per game.
• Louisiana is the only team in the Sun Belt Conference to have a player rank in the top five in the league in points (Kobe Julien, 18.2), rebounds (Joe Charles, 9.5), and assists (Themus Fulks, 4.9) for the season. In conference games only, Louisiana is the lone school to have someone in the top five in points (Kobe Julien, 16.5), rebounds (Joe Charles, 10.4), assists (Themus Fulks, 5.1), blocks (Joe Charles, 1.5), and steals (Themus Fulks, 2.3).
• These teams last faced off just 11 days ago. The Cajuns led by as many as 35 in the second half in an 86-68 win. The 86 points are the most scored by either team in the series in regulation dating back to 1959. The only game to feature either side scoring more was a 94-84 overtime win by the Cajuns at home on March 2, 2017.
Bob Marlin is 32-16 all-time against the Bobcats, the most wins and total games against any opponent in his career.
