Cajuns Head To Magic City For Samford Bulldog Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – With the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships scheduled for later this month, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Track and Field team gets its first look this season at the Birmingham Crossplex when it competes in the Samford Bulldog Invitational on Friday.
Action begins at 10 a.m. Live results will be available by accessing the Track and Field Schedule page at RaginCajuns.com.
Louisiana makes it final tuneup in the 16-team meet before returning for the Sun Belt Conference Championships, scheduled for Feb. 20-21. The Ragin' Cajuns, the lone SBC school to compete on Friday, will look to build on some of the top performances among league athletes.
A pair of Ragin' Cajuns – Trejun Jones (men's 60-meter dash) and Jeremy Nelson (men's triple jump) – have posted the top marks in the league during the indoor season with Rylan Theyard (men's triple jump), Jacqueline Pokuaah (women's triple jump) and the men's 4x400-meter relay team of Kashie Crockett, Brock Appiah, Javed Jones and Nathan Fergusson ranking second in the league.
Sprinter Kiana Foster is scheduled to make her 2023 debut in the women's 60-meter dash and enters as the top-seeded runner in the event. Kennedy London, ranked seventh in the SBC in the women's 60-meter dash, is the top-ranked athlete in the event and looks to improve her season-best time (8.49 seconds).
