Louisiana Track and Field to Compete in Texas Relays

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Track and Field will travel to Austin, Texas on its first road trip of the season to compete in the Texas Relays beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. The meet will be available to be streamed live on ESPN+.
 
Louisiana will travel 14 women and 14 men to the four-day meet.
 
Six Louisiana athletes topped the podium in last weeks classics, three of the first-place finishers will be making the trip to Austin.
 
Maria Bienvenu claimed javelin with a personal best 53.57m, Nathan Ferguson paced the field in the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.71 and Serenity Rogers raced to gold in the 100m hurdles in 13.56.
 
The Texas Relays began back in 1925 by Longhorns coach Clyde Littlefield. They are the second-largest track meet in the country with 5,000 athletes and 50,000 spectators attending the events.
