SBC rivals meet for 12th time on the soccer pitch

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team returns home on Sunday as it plays host to Sun Belt Conference rival Texas State in the annual Pink Game at the Home Bank Track/Soccer Complex.
 
Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m., and admission is free. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live stats available at CajunStats.com. The Ragin' Cajuns will honor Breast Cancer survivors prior to kickoff while Louisiana will wear special pink uniforms.
 
Louisiana (1-6-5, 0-3-2 SBC) dropped a 3-1 decision at Arkansas State in its last match on Thursday despite the 18th career goal from midfielder Karleen Bedre. The senior moved into sole possession of fourth place on the school's all-time scoring list (51) and fifth-place in career goals.
 
Bedre has scored six of her team-high seven points in SBC play with Hailly Waterhouse (6) and Ruthny Mathurin (5) next in points. Waterhouse leads Louisiana with three goals on the season with Bedre (3) and Sisley Stephens (2) the top two players in assists.
 
Texas State (9-2-2, 3-1-1 SBC), ranked No. 10 in the United Soccer Coaches Southeast Region rankings, dropped a 3-1 decision to SBC newcomer James Madison at home on Thursday. The Bobcats, off to their best 13-match start in school history, are 2-0-2 in their last four SBC matches on the road and drew a 1-1 decision in last year's meeting against the Ragin' Cajuns in Lafayette.
