Ragin' Cajuns, Tigers meet on the pitch for first time since 2011

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team plays host to a nationally-ranked opponent for the first time in school history on Thursday when it faces No. 7-ranked LSU at the Ragin' Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility.
 
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., and will be available on ESPN+. Live results will be available at CajunStats.com. Admission to the match is free with the match also part of Cajun Rush and SSO Night.
 
Louisiana (2-4-0), which is playing its second nationally-ranked opponent during the 2021 season and fourth school from the SEC, faces LSU (6-0-0) for the 10th time overall and the first since Aug. 21, 2011. The match for the Ragin' Cajuns is the final tuneup before beginning Sun Belt Conference play on Sept. 16 against Georgia State.
 
LSU, which has defeated three ranked opponents on the road this season, received its highest-ever ranking in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll after being ranked No. 7 in 2009.
