Louisiana Soccer Match 2 Preview: at Mississippi State

LAFAYETTE – Coming off a thrilling 1-0 win in its season-opener on Friday, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team heads out on the road for the first time during the 2021 season when it visits Southeastern Conference member Mississippi State on Sunday at the MSU Soccer Field.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m., with the match being streamed live on SEC Network Plus. Live results will be available at CajunStats.com.

Louisiana (1-0-0) opened its season on Friday defeating Prairie View on an own goal in the final minute. Akron transfer Libby Harper pitched a shutout in her Louisiana debut while the Ragin' Cajuns held the Panthers to six attempts at the net.

The match against Mississippi State (0-1-0), the third all-time between the schools and the second in nearly six months, is the first of three straight matches for Louisiana at SEC opponents with the Ragin' Cajuns slated to play at Kentucky (Aug. 26) and Tennessee (Aug. 29).

The Bulldogs opened their season on Thursday with a 2-1 setback at Lipscomb. MSU claimed a 3-1 win over the Ragin' Cajuns in the previous meeting between the schools on Feb. 28
