Final tuneup for Louisiana before Sun Belt Championships
MONTGOMERY, Texas – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team makes its final tuneup before the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Championships when it begins play on Monday at the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Invitational at Walden on Lake Conroe Golf Club.

Action in the 54-hole event with begin with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start on Monday with the teams playing 36 holes followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday.

Louisiana, ranked No. 95 nationally by GolfStat.com and will be paired with host Sam Houston and Louisiana Tech on Monday, will be joined by Sun Belt Conference programs Texas State and UT Arlington along with Abilene Christian, Incarnate Word, McNeese, New Orleans, Nicholls, Northern Colorado, Southeastern Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin, St. Thomas (Texas) and Wichita State.

Louisiana, which will compete in the SBC Championships scheduled for April 24-28 in El Dorado, Ark., returns to action in the state of Texas after a third-place finish at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic in Houston. The Ragin' Cajuns, with a 290.19 per round scoring average through 21 rounds of play, finished at 13-under-par 851 to post their lowest 54-hole score of the season and the ninth-lowest in school history.

Peter Hinnant, Charlie Flynn and Hudson Dubinski each turned in top-20 performances for Louisiana with Hinnant posting a seventh-place finish in a 96-player field. Flynn finished tied for 11th in the final standings with Dubinski finishing tied for 16th.

Hinnant, who has a 72.90 scoring average, will lead Louisiana's five-man lineup followed by Flynn (71.67), Dubinski (72.60), Bjorn Gudjonsson (73.83) and Hunter Hammett (74.50). Freshman Jake Marler (76.33) will compete in his second consecutive event as an individual.
