Louisiana takes two-stroke lead after 18 holes; paired with South Alabama, Cincinnati in second round
GULF SHORES, Ala. – Hudson Dubinski and Bjorn Gudjonsson each posted below-par rounds and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team claimed the lead after the first day of the 2021 Craft Farms Intercollegiate on Sunday at Craft Farms Golf Resort Cotton Creek Course.

Louisiana posted the day's lone round below par, posting a team score of 2-under 286 to build a two-stroke lead over co-host South Alabama. Cincinnati (291), Lipscomb (291) and co-host Eastern Michigan (291) rounded out the top five in the 13-team field.

Dubinski, who birdied four of the first seven holes, recorded a 3-under 69 for Louisiana in the opening round on the par-72, 7,127-yard course to finish in a three-way tie for second place and two strokes behind first-day leader David Perkins of Illinois State. Gudjonsson, who flirted with a bogey-free round until a double bogey on No. 18, posted a 2-under 70 for the Ragin' Cajuns to finish tied for fifth after 18 holes.

Charlie Flynn finished tied for 18th place after the first round after posting a 1-over-par 73 for the Ragin' Cajuns.

Peter Hinnant, who shot a 2-over 74, rebounded from a triple bogey at No. 2 and was 4-over-par through 16 holes before posting his school-record sixth eagle of the season and 12th of his career on the par-5, 535-yard No. 17. Hunter Hammett added a 7-over 79 after starting at even-par through 12 holes.

Second round play begins Tuesday at 7:50 a.m. with Louisiana scheduled to tee off from the No. 1 tee beginning at 8:40 a.m. The Ragin' Cajuns will be paired with South Alabama and Cincinnati in the second round of the 54-hole event.
