Ragin' Cajuns host Bobcats to wrap up Friends and Family Weekend
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team wraps up Friends and Family Weekend on Sunday when it plays host to Texas State in a Sun Belt Conference battle at the Ragin' Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility.
Â
Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m., with the match being streamed live on ESPN+. Live results will be available at CajunStats.com.
Â
Louisiana (6-8-1, 3-3-1 Sun Belt), which is in a three-way tie with ULM and Coastal Carolina for sixth place with 10 points, opened its weekend with a convincing 3-0 win over Little Rock as the freshman tandem of Carol Rodriguez and Tatum Beck accounted for all three goals. Rodriguez's first goal of the season in the 21st minute would be all that Louisiana would need in the win while Beck scored twice within a five-minute span in the second half to seal the victory.
Â
The Ragin' Cajuns claimed a 1-0 victory in last year's matchup with Texas State (7-6-1, 4-4-0 Sun Belt) as Hailey Hoffmann scored in the 58th minute. The victory snapped a seven-match win streak for the Bobcats in the series where Texas State holds an 8-2-0 lead.
