Ragin' Cajuns look for first three-game win streak of the season

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Coming off an emotional 66-65 win over UT Arlington on Thursday, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Basketball team returns to action on Saturday when it travels down I-35 to face Texas State in a Sun Belt Conference game on Saturday at Strahan Arena.

Tipoff is slated for 4:30 p.m. The game can be heard in the Lafayette area on KHXT 107.9 FM, ESPN 1420 AM and the ESPN 1420 app with Jay Walker on the call. The game will also be available on ESPN+ with Brant Freeman (PxP) and Suzanne Fox (Color) providing commentary. Live results will available at CajunStats.com.

Louisiana (9-13, 4-7 Sun Belt) won its second straight game after Dou Gueye's turnaround 3-pointer at the buzzer helped the Ragin' Cajuns claim their third straight contest at UTA's College Park Center. Jalen Johnson recorded a double-double with 15 points and a season-high 13 rebounds, while Cedric Russell and P.J. Hardy scored 13 points each.

Texas State (13-9, 6-5 Sun Belt) rallied from a six-point halftime deficit to defeat ULM, 71-51, on Thursday. The Bobcats used a 29-9 run in the second half to pull away from the Warhawks as Alonzo Sule led the team with 15 points and eight rebounds.

The Bobcats claimed the previous meeting against Louisiana, 68-59, two weeks ago at the Cajundome. The win was the first in Lafayette for Texas State in seven games and its third overall in the 15-game series.
