@RaginCajunsSOC Closes Out Non-Conference Slate At Rice Tournament

HOUSTON, Texas – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team is set to close out its non-conference slate this weekend with a pair of matches at the Rice Tournament hosted at Halloway Field.
 
The Ragin' Cajuns (1-3-2) open the tournament on Friday at 5 p.m. against Tulsa. Louisiana closes out the weekend on Sunday with a noon contest against Memphis. Live stats for both matches are available on RaginCajuns.com.
 
The Series
 
Louisiana is facing Tulsa for the fourth time in program history with a 0-2-1 mark in the previous three meetings. All three contests have been decided by one goal or less with the Cajuns falling 2-1 in the last meeting at Tulsa in 2009.
 
The Ragin' Cajuns and Memphis are meeting for the first time on Sunday.
 
Scouting Tulsa
 
Tulsa (2-2-1) split a pair of matches last weekend falling to Arkansas State 2-1 before picking up a 4-1 victory over Sam Houston State. This is the first match for the Golden Hurricane away from home as their first five came in Tulsa.
 
Mia Darden and Anna Williams are tied for the team lead in goals with two each, while Williams has a team-best six points on the year.
 
Scouting Memphis
 
Memphis (4-1-0) notched a pair of victories against UAB and Samford last weekend to open a six-game road trip. The Tigers have just one blemish on the schedule this season dropping a 5-2 decision to Mississippi State.
 
Clarissa Larisey is tied for tenth in the nation with five goals in five games so far this season, while Jessica Lisi is second on the squad with three goals.

Louisiana opens conference play next Friday, September 14 at Troy with a 7 p.m. contest at the Troy Soccer Complex. The Ragin' Cajuns close out the opening conference weekend with a trip to Georgia Southern on Sunday at 12 p.m. CT.
