LAFAYETTE, La. – Coming off of two straight shutout victories, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team will head out to the Carolinas for a two-match road swing starting Friday evening at 5 p.m. CT against Coastal Carolina at the CCU Soccer Stadium.
 
Following the contest with the Chanticleers, Louisiana (3-7-2, 2-2-0 SBC) then heads to Appalachian State for an 11 a.m. CT match at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex. Live stats and video for both contests is available on RaginCajuns.com.
 
The Ragin' Cajuns come into the weekend tied for fifth in the Sun Belt Conference with six points through four matches. Louisiana claimed back-to-back 1-0 shutouts against ULM and Arkansas State over the last two weekends at home.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Victoria Ryan is tied for fourth in the league with two shutouts this season making 28 saves in eight contests. Offensively, Una Einarsdottir and Lexi Turner are tied for the team lead in points with four.
 
The Series
 
Louisiana holds a 0-2-1 mark in the all-time series with Coastal Carolina picking up a 2-2 double-overtime draw in the only match played in Conway, S.C. The Ragin' Cajuns are 1-4-0 all-time against the Mountaineers with the lone victory coming in the first ever meeting in Boone, N.C. in 2014.
 
Scouting Coastal Carolina
 
Coastal Carolina (4-5-1, 3-1-0 SBC) had their three-match conference win streak snapped with a 2-0 loss at Appalachian State last Sunday. The Chanticleers have played only two matches at home this season with an 0-2-0 mark at the CCU Soccer Stadium.
 
Hannah Miller and Baylee Price lead Coastal offensively with two goals and an assist apiece. Sophomore goalkeeper Rylee Atteberry has two shutouts in 10 matches this season with a 1.21 goals against average.
 
Scouting Appalachian State
 
Appalachian State (6-4-1, 3-0-0 SBC) is riding a three-match win streak coming into the weekend including a 2-0 victory over CCU and a 2-1 win at Georgia Southern. The Mountaineers are set to host Texas State on Friday.
 
Junior Maggie Hanusek leads the squad with seven points on the season and is one of five players to score multiple goals this season, while Kat Greer and Blair Anderes are tied for the team lead with three goals.
