@RaginCajunsSOC Set To Close Out Regular Season

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team is set to wrap up the regular season this weekend with a pair of Sun Belt Conference matches starting Friday at 7 p.m. at South Alabama.

Following the contest matchup with the Jaguars at The Cage, the Ragin' Cajuns (3-11-2, 2-6-0 SBC) return home to face Georgia State on Sunday at noon at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Facility. Louisiana will honor its four seniors prior to the contest against the Panthers and admission to the match is free.

The Ragin' Cajuns come into the weekend in a tie for ninth in the Sun Belt with six points on the season. Sophomore Una Einarsdottir continues to lead Louisiana with two goals and four points on the year.

Louisiana is 4-10-5 all-time against South Alabama including a 3-3-3 mark on the road. The Ragin' Cajuns picked up a 3-2 victory over the Jags in their last trip to Mobile, Ala.

The Cajuns and Georgia State are meeting for just the sixth time in program history with Panthers owning a 2-1-2 edge. The two sides have drawn the last two contests including a scoreless affair last year in Atlanta.

South Alabama (7-8-0, 5-3-0 SBC) comes into the contest in fourth place in the Sun Belt with 15 points after pair of victories last weekend against ULM and Appalachian State.

Brenna McPartlan is tied for third in the SBC with five goals and 14 points on the year. Hannah Godfrey and Moa Ohman are tied for second on the team with three goals, while keeper Justice Stanford ranks third in the Sun Belt with five shutouts.

Georgia State (6-9-1, 4-4-0 SBC) has won four straight matches to move into a tie for fifth place with 12 points. The Panthers are 2-4 away from home this season with both wins coming in league action.

Brooke Shank leads the GSU offense with five goals and 11 points on the year, while Caitlin Ray also has 11 points on three goals and five assists.
