LAFAYETTE -- The Ragin' Cajuns women's soccer squad will begin a three-game road swing this weekend with a pair of non-conference matches at Ole Miss and Southern Miss. The Cajuns and Rebels will get the action started on Friday, August 28 at 7 p.m. from OM Soccer Stadium. The weekend concludes on Sunday, August 30 in Hattiesburg, Miss. from the Southern Miss Soccer Complex beginning at 1 p.m.  

Louisiana is coming off a 2-0 shutout victory against Nicholls State last Sunday at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer Complex. The defense has yielded just one goal in its two matchups this season and has blanked both opponents in the first period. 

Cajuns Notes
* Freshman goalkeeper Cosette Morche saved a season-high seven shots in a 2-0 win against Nicholls State on Sunday afternoon. She recorded a .917 save percentage and a 0.50 goals against average on the weekend. 

* Through two matches, Morche leads all Sun Belt Conference goalkeepers with 11 saves this season.

* Junior forward Yazmin Montoya picked up two assists in the Cajuns' 2-0 win against Nicholls State. The two assists moved her into a third-place tie with Shelby Isley and Stephanie Lynch on the Cajuns' all-time list. She also owns 49 career points, one shy of moving into a second-place tie with Kelli Jestes on the career list.  

* Junior forward Annika Schmidt moved into sole possession of fourth place on the Ragin' Cajuns all-time goals list with 16, after scoring in the 82nd minute against the Nicholls State Colonels in Sunday's victory. 

* In the win on Sunday, the Cajuns were outshot, 14-12, marking the first time they won a match when taking less shot attempts than the opposing team since October 17, 2014 at Appalachian State. (outshot, 22-6 in a 2-1 victory). 

Scouting the Ole Miss Rebels
* The Rebels ended in a 0-0 draw at Florida Gulf Coast in their season opener on August 21 and topped Boise State, 4-0 last Sunday. 

* The offense is led by junior forward/midfielder Addie Forbus after collecting three points in last weekend's action (goal, assist).

* Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Mamie Merritt has started both matches between the pipes, and has tallied a 1-0-1 record with a shutout and two saves in 184:30 minutes.

Scouting the Southern Miss Golden Eagles
The Golden Eagles played a pair of double-overtime matches last week, defeating Arkansas State, 2-1 and tying Jackson State, 1-1. 

* Juniors Rikke Randrup and Somer Jones and freshman Kierstin Bradley all have scored a goal this season. Freshman Mary Kate Smith and redshirt junior Kay Kay Hypolite both tallied an assist last weekend. 

* Junior goalkeeper Brittany Taylor has allowed two goals and saved eight shots through two matches in 216:55 minutes. 

Series History with Ole Miss
* The Ragin' Cajuns are 0-3-0 against Ole Miss in the all-time series. All three matches have come in Oxford, the most recent last season on August 31.

Series History with Southern Miss
* The Cajuns and Golden Eagles are deadlocked, 2-2-1 in the all-time series, the last matchup coming on Aug. 28, 2011 in Lafayette. (3-2 win in OT).
