Chelsea Surpris (soo-PREE) is in her first season as an assistant coach for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team after being appointed on Oct. 24, 2019.
A four-year letterwinner in soccer at the University of Texas, Surpris played in 60 matches with 42 starts during her career and helping the Longhorns to 43 wins and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances. The Crowley, Texas native logged over 4,500 minutes of playing time as a defender for the Longhorns, including 2,004 of a possible 2,005 minutes in the defensive backline in helping Texas to the Sweet 16 in 2017.
She was a member of Texas' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, serving as secretary. After concluding her collegiate athletic career for the Longhorns, Surpris spent time professionally with the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women's Soccer League.
Surpris graduated from Texas in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Dimensions of Organization (HDO) and a minor in Business.
