Ragin' Cajuns Face Ole Miss In Soccer Home Opener

Louisiana hosts first SEC opponent since 2021
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Women's Soccer opens its nine-match home schedule on Sunday when it welcomes SEC opponent Ole Miss to the Home Bank Soccer and Track Complex.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+. Admission to all Louisiana home soccer matches is free.
The match against Ole Miss (1-0-0) is the eighth in school history between the schools and the first-ever meeting in Lafayette.
Louisiana (1-0-0) opened its season on Thursday with a convincing 4-1 victory at Southeastern Louisiana and improving to 6-0-1 in its last seven season-openers. Miku Kurihara, Sydney Byrnes, Addison Soehn and Madelyn Linenkugel each scored goals for the Ragin' Cajuns with Carson Glenn distributing a pair of assists.
Sophia Moore and Maiya Clark each contributed with assists on Linenkugel's first career goal while true freshman Ally Allen stopped five shots between the pipes in her debut.
Ole Miss opened its first season under head coach Todd Shulenberger with a 1-0 victory over Murray State on Wednesday. Katie Ramsden's goal in the 63rd minute broke a scoreless contest while Taylor Prigge faced four shots with a save to pitch the shutout.
