Cajuns Advance Multiple Athletes To Finals at SBC Outdoor

MOBILE, Ala. – Louisiana advanced multiple athletes into Saturday's finals and turned in several scoring performances Friday on Day Two of the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Jaguar Track Complex.

The Sun Belt Conference Championships conclude Saturday with finals in field events beginning noon before running events start at 4 p.m. The final day will be available on ESPN+ with live results available here.

Louisiana concluded the second day of the three-day meet in third place (35 points) in seven of 21 women's events with the men's team in seventh (19) after eight events.

On the track, the Ragin' Cajuns qualified athletes in six events for Saturday's finals, led by strong performances in the sprints and middle-distance races.

In the women's 100-meter dash, Tijuanique Morton advanced to the finals after posting a qualifying time of 11.65 seconds. On the men's side, Mark Daley clocked a 10.40 in the 100-meter dash preliminaries while Camren Hardy followed at 10.43 as both earned spots in the final.

Josh Quintana qualified for the men's 800-meter final after posting a time of 1:51.51, while Madison Bailey advanced in the women's 800 meters with the second-fastest time (2:09.09) in the preliminaries.

Louisiana also placed two athletes into the finals of the men's 110-meter hurdles as Kobe Mendez (13.89 seconds) and Michael Frazier III (14.03) secured qualifying spots.

In the men's 400-meter dash, Caemon Scott advanced to the finals with a time of 47.39 seconds.

In field events, Reem Tammam recorded a fourth-place finish in the women's long jump with a leap of 6.19 meters (20-3.75) – the fifth-best mark in school history, while Courtney Wiltz finished ninth overall at 19-0.50 (5.80 meters). Laila Guy placed sixth for Louisiana in the women's shot put at 14.07 meters (46-2).

Teodor Borgius cleared 5.13 meters (16-10) to finish sixth in the men's pole vault, and Devonte Edwards earned sixth place in the men's shot put with a mark of 17.52 meters (57-5.75). Praiyer Jones added an 11th-place finish in the event at 16.78 meters (55-0.75).

Louisiana also received scoring efforts in distance events as Peyton Chiasson finished fifth in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:09.54, while Caroline Spalitta led the Cajun women in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a 10th-place finish in 11:07.55.
