Ferguson Finishes 24th at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Sophomore closes out successful season in Eugene
EUGENE, Ore. – Louisiana's Jemar Ferguson wrapped up his 2026 campaign on Wednesday when he placed 24th overall in the men's javelin during the opening day of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field.
Ferguson, making his first appearance at the NCAA Championships, posted his top throw of 201 feet, 9 inches on his initial attempt in Flight 1.
The Kingston, Jamaica native earned his trip to the NCAA Championships after tossing his personal best of 66.29 meters (227-6) on his very first attempt at the NCAA East First Round on May 27 in Lexington, Ky. He placed second in his flight and 11th overall, snagging one of the 12 spots awarded at the regional meet.
The sophomore finished as the runner-up in the javelin at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Mobile, Ala.
