Louisiana looks to build off top-3 performances from last season
MOBILE, Ala. – Louisiana looks to build on a pair of top-3 performances from last year when it opens competition on Thursday at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Jaguar Track on the campus of the University of South Alabama.

The opening day of competition begins at 10:30 a.m., with the first day of the men's decathlon, followed by the start of the women's heptathlon at 11 a.m. Field events will begin with the women's hammer throw at noon before preliminaries in running events start at 6:30 p.m.

Competition continues on Friday and concludes on Saturday with all three days available on ESPN+. Live results for the meet can be found here.

Louisiana claimed a second-place finish in the women's championships last year in Harrisonburg, Va., while the men finished third overall.

The Ragin' Cajuns enter the meet with five individuals leading all SBC athletes in their respective events: Henry Lyon (men's 5K), Isabelle Russell (women's 10K), Alaysha Veal (women's high jump), Daijah Miller (women's triple jump) and Kimola Hines (women's discus).

Louisiana also sends the men's 4x100-meter relay (39.31) and 4x400-meter relay (3:07.62) teams that have produced the top times in the Sun Belt this season.
