Louisiana Finishes Second, Fifth at SBC Outdoor Championships

Ragin' Cajuns claim three individual, men's 4x100-meter relay crown on final day
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns closed out competition at the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday with multiple medal-winning performances and three individual conference titles at the Jaguar Track Complex.
The Louisiana women's team finished second overall with 96 points, trailing only Texas State (128.83), while the Cajun men placed fifth with 76 points.
Louisiana was highlighted by conference championships from Reem Tammam in the women's triple jump, Kimola Hines in the women's discus and Alaysha Veal in the women's high jump.
The men's 4x100-meter relay team of Zakhy Munro, Mark Daley, Christopher Gravois and Camren Hardy claimed the title after finishing in 39.46 and equaling the fourth-fastest time in school history. Louisiana posted a second-place finish in the men's 4x400-meter relay as the group of Hardy, Daley, Darrius Charles and Caemon Scott posted a time of 3:08.07.
Tammam captured the women's triple jump title with a leap of 41-7.75 (12.69 meters) on her second attempt. Veal cleared 5-10.75 (1.80 meters) to claim the high jump crown and Hines recorded a winning toss of 179-8 (54.77) meters in the discus to set both an SBC meet and facility record.
On the track, Hardy added a pair of top-five finishes in the men's sprints, placing fourth in the 100 meters in 10.33 seconds before finishing fifth in the 200-meter final in 20.77. Daley added a silver medal in the men's 200 meters, crossing in 20.62 seconds after placing sixth in the 100-meter final (10.41).
Josh Quintana placed sixth in the 800-meters (1:53.04) while Matthew Maynard was 11th in the 5,000 meters (14:58.74). Scott turned in a strong performance in the men's 400 meters, earning bronze with a time of 46.81 seconds, while Shenell Tucker placed fourth in the women's 400-meter hurdles after clocking a time of 59.16 seconds.
In the women's distance events, Isabelle Russell and Ella Segura each collected podium finishes for the second time for Louisiana. Russell placed second in the 5,000 meters (16:59.45) after finishing second in the 10,000 meters (36:45.93) on Thursday, while Segura finished third in both events, including a time of 17:02.19 in the 5K. Madison Bailey added a bronze-medal finish in the women's 800 meters after posting a time of 2:09.66.
The Ragin' Cajuns will await selections for the NCAA East Preliminary Round, scheduled for May 27-30 in Lexington, Ky.
