Thirteen individual student-athletes earn academic recognition by national organization
NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana Track & Field continued to excel in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year as both the men's and women's programs were recognized as U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams, the organization announced Monday.
The Ragin' Cajuns were one of four Sun Belt Conference institutions to have both programs earn All-Academic Team honors while 13 student-athletes were recognized individually as USTFCCCA All-Academic selections.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors, a program must post a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0.
Individual All-Academic honors are awarded to student-athletes who maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 while meeting the organization's athletic performance standards.
Louisiana's men's team, which recorded a overall team GPA of 3.2, placed six student-athletes on the All-Academic list: Devonte Edwards, Camren Hardy, Jackson Jarrett, Praiyer Jones, Matthew Maynard and Caemon Scott.
Seven members of the Louisiana women's team, which accumulated a 3.36 team GPA, earned All-Academic honors: Emma Bacilla, Madison Bailey, Juliana Courville, Lily Murray, Isabelle Russell, Ella Segura and Reem Tammam.
Under head coach Tommy Badon, Louisiana also enjoyed success in competition during the 2026 outdoor season, with the women's team finishing second at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships and the men's team placing fifth.
