Veal, Daley Strike Gold at FISU America Games

Ragin' Cajuns duo earned gold for United States, Jamaica in Lima, Peru
LIMA, Peru – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field standouts Alaysha Veal and Mark Daley each earned gold medals while representing their respective countries at the fourth FISU America Games, which concluded Saturday.
Veal, the 2026 Sun Belt Conference indoor and outdoor women's high jump champion, captured the gold medal in the high jump after clearing 5 feet, 6½ inches (1.69m).
Daley, competing for his native Jamaica, won the men's 200 meters in 20.90 seconds after posting the fastest qualifying time of 20.98 in the preliminary round. He later helped Jamaica earn a second gold medal by running the second leg of the winning 4x100-meter relay team, which finished in 40.30 seconds.
