Louisiana looks to defend men's title; two-day meet available on ESPN+

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team looks to defend its men's title when it opens competition at the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships at Birmingham CrossPlex.
 
Monday's action starts at 10 a.m., with the opening four events of the men's heptathlon with the finals of the women's weight throw scheduled for 1:20 p.m. The meet concludes on Tuesday with both days available on ESPN+.
 
Louisiana's men finished the 2025 meet with 142 points to win its sixth overall indoor title and first since 1996. The Ragin' Cajuns combined to win five events en route to the title, their most since 2010. The Louisiana women's team placed fifth with 56 points, its highest finish in three seasons.
 
The Ragin' Cajuns bring a combined 14 top-three marks in the Sun Belt Conference, including the league's top marks in the men's 3,000 meters (Henry Lyon), women's high jump (Alaysha Veal) and women's triple jump (Reem Tammam).
 
Louisiana brings the league's top time in the women's distance medley (11:39.22) and the men's 4x400-meter relay (3:12.11).
 
Camren Hardy is ranked in the top three in both the men's 60-meters and 200 meters, with Caemon Scott ranked second overall in the 400 meters. Lyon enters his first SBC meet ranked second in the 1-Mile run for the Ragin' Cajuns with the men's distance medley relay team posting the league's second-fastest time (9:45.47).
 
Daijah Miller's top mark in the women's triple jump (40-9 ¾) is the second-best behind Tammam in the SBC with Isabelle Russell (3,000 meters – 9:35.63), Jasmine Sakaguchi (pole vault – 12-7 ½) and Lily Murray (weight throw – 64-7 ¼) ranked third.
