Louisiana Closes Home Slate Against Arkansas State on Senior Day

Ragin’ Cajuns battle conference contender in season’s final Cajundome appearance

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball team plays its final home game of the regular season on Saturday, February 21 hosting Arkansas State at 3:00 p.m. at the Cajundome.
 
The game is the second half of a doubleheader with the Louisiana men's squad which begins the day meeting Texas State at Noon.
 
Louisiana (4-23, 2-14 SBC) looks to continue its success on Saturdays in February, claiming wins over Akron and South Alabama the previous two weeks. Live coverage is available on ESPN+ and KPEL 105.1 FM.
 
Saturday is Senior Day, with a pregame ceremony recognizing Jazmyne Jackson, Stephanie Mosley and student manager London Neal
 
Admission is free. The Cajundome's clear bag policy and cashless concessions will be in effect. The University's National Pan-Hellenic Council will present a halftime step show in recognition of Black History Month.
 
The matchup with Arkansas State (21-7, 12-3 SBC) is one of two games remaining before the SBC Championship, scheduled for March 3-9 in Pensacola. UL closes the regular season on Friday, February 27 at Georgia State.
 
The Ragin' Cajuns opened this week's homestand falling 83-61 to Southern Miss on Wednesday, when Carly Keats fueled a decisive three-point performance for the Lady Eagles. ASU snapped a three-game losing streak with its 75-61 win over Texas State on Wednesday in San Marcos.
 
Mikaylah Manley has scored in double figures in nine of the last 10 games and 19 times this season. She leads Louisiana with a 13.1-point average in conference play and ranks among the Sun Belt's top 20 scorers.
 
Freshmen Amijah Price and Imani Daniel, the SBC's top two scoring freshmen, get one more chance to shine at home in their rookie season. Price has surpassed 300 points, while Daniel is 15 points shy of the milestone.
 
The Red Wolves rank in the top five nationally in three-pointers made, steals and turnovers forced — leading the Sun Belt in all three categories. ASU averages 10.0 three-pointers per game, third nationally.

  • Freshman Imani Daniel led the way averaging 20.5 point per game in exhibition action highlighted by a 19-point, 15-rebound double-double vs. LSU-A.
  • Garry Brodhead is the program's all-time winningest head coach and the only head coach to reach both 100 and 200 victories. His career record entering Saturday's game stands at 219-204.
