Manley Leads Second-Half Surge as Louisiana Defeats Georgia State, 71-66

Ragin' Cajuns overcome double-digit deficit; advances to face No. 10 ULM on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
PENSACOLA, Fla. – Louisiana's Mikayla Manley scored 23 of her career-high 32 points in the second half and the Ragin' Cajuns overcame a double-digit deficit to storm back and defeat No. 11-seeded Georgia State, 71-66, in the opening round of the 2026 Visit Pensacola Sun Belt Conference Women's Basketball Championship Presented by Air Force Reserve on Tuesday at the Pensacola Bay Center.
Manley scored 14 points in the fourth quarter as Louisiana (5-25) – the No. 14 seed in the tournament – advanced to face No. 10-seeded ULM in a second-round game on Wednesday at 2 p.m. The game will be available on ESPN+ with fans able to listen locally on 103.3 The Goat and worldwide on the Varsity Network app.
Kahlen Norris added 13 points and Imani Daniel 10 as Louisiana trailed 20-9 after the first quarter and 34-28 at halftime.
Manley scored nine points in the third quarter as Louisiana closed the gap to 48-46 after three quarters before taking its first lead of the game – 54-51 – on Lily Ba's 3-pointer as part of an 8-0 run.
Georgia State (10-21) rallied to tie the game at 59-all on Kaleigh Addie's 3-pointer with 4:39 remaining before Manley scored nine of Louisiana's final 12 points, beginning with a pair of go-ahead free throws with 3:52 left.
The win marked the 16th SBC Tournament victory for head coach Garry Brodhead and flipped a 74-68 Georgia State win in the regular-season finale last Friday.
