Louisiana Indoor Track Preview: at Missouri/McNeese

Ragin' Cajuns head north, west for second event of the indoor season
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team will split up for its second event of the season when it competes at both the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational in Columbia, Mo., and the McNeese Indoor II event in Lake Charles.
Louisiana will send 39 members to the two-day meet (Friday-Saturday) at the Hearnes Center for the meet, hosted by Missouri, with 30 squad members headed west to compete on Friday at the McNeese Rec Complex.

DR. RICK MCGUIRE INVITATIONAL (Jan. 30-31)
Louisiana will join host Mizzou in the 13-team meet, which will also include athletes from the following schools: Drake, Florida International, Gonzaga, Illinois State, Indiana State, North Dakota State, Saint Louis, South Dakota, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Toledo, and Washington (Mo.).
The Ragin' Cajuns will get their first opportunities in multi-events during the indoor season, with Nelvin Appiah and Chase Lathrop competing in the men's heptathlon and the tandem of Bethany Casey and Andrea Monroy-Sosa competing in the women's pentathlon.
Mark Daley, Camren Hardy and Caemon Scott will be among a group of sprinters competing in the men's 200-meters for Louisiana, with both the men's and women's distance medley relay teams seeing their first action of the season.
Lily Murray, coming off a school-record mark in the women's weight throw (64-7 ¼) at the season-opening LSU Purple Tiger, enters the meet ranked second in the Sun Belt Conference and 35th nationally. Alaysha Veal, who cleared 5-8 in the women's high jump, is ranked third overall among SBC athletes.
MCNEESE INDOOR II (Jan. 30)
Louisiana will send a combination of sprinters, middle distance, and distance runners to the nine-team meet that includes in-state schools McNeese and Nicholls.
Peyton Bourgeois, Kohl Feucht, Mason Haley and John Walker McDonald are entered to run the men's 3,000 meters for Louisiana. Caroline Spalitta and Chloé Crowell will lead a group of runners in the women's 3,000 meters for the Ragin' Cajuns.
Federico Bovo will compete in multiple events for Louisiana – the men's long jump, high jump, 55-meter hurdles, 800 meters.
