Cajuns Compete on Second Day of NCAA East Regional

Louisiana will compete in four events tomorrow with a chance to qualify for the national championships
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A day after a late night, the Louisiana track and field team competed in four events at the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Florida, on Thursday.
The day started early with the women's hammer at 7 a.m. CT after last night's events ran until after midnight due to a five-hour-long weather delay. Lily Murray wrapped up a strong season for the Cajuns, finishing 40th with a throw of 177-5/54.08. A regional regular, Marin Barras was 42nd in the javelin with a throw of 134-8/41.06.
In the 100m, Amairi Ashford placed 47th with a time of 11.62. After the weather postponed it last night, Teodor Borgius finished 37th in the men's pole vault after clearing 16-6/5.03.
Louisiana will have four events on the docket tomorrow as they look to punch tickets to the national championships. The day begins at 1:30 p.m. CT with Jeremy Nelson competing in the triple jump, looking to reach nationals for the second year in a row. Louisiana will also be represented in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, as well as Joe Patterson in the 800m quarterfinals.
