The Ragin’ Cajuns have set five school records through three weekends of the outdoor season
BATON ROUGEÂ - The Louisiana track and field team heads east to Baton Rouge for the Pelican Relays hosted by Southern beginning on Friday.Â

The Cajuns are off to a blazing start in outdoors, recording five program records through three weeks. Last weekend, Joe Patterson (1:47.89) and Alexandra Johnson (2:08.94) set the school record in the 800, while the Cajuns also had a great showing at the Bobcat Relays.
Louisiana is poised for a big showing at the Sun Belt Conference Championships next month in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The men's team has 13 scores that would be among the top five in the league through three weeks. This includes Patterson, who leads the conference in the 800 and 1500, and the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams.
The women have 14 top fives. Johnson leads the SBC in the 800 while Isabelle Russell is at the front of the pack in the 5000. The Cajuns have seven other scores that would place them on the podium.
Louisiana will have two more meets before the SBC Championships with a trip next week to Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
