Hines Shines on Opening Day of Alabama Relays

The senior posted two strong scores on Friday
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - The Louisiana track and field team opened the Alabama Relays with field events on Friday in Tuscaloosa.
Kimola Hines had a big day while competing in a pair of events. She opened the day by taking third in the hammer (175-2/53.40m) and followed that with a fourth-place showing in the discus invitational (164-3/50.06m). Lily Murray competed in the hammer invitational, placing sixth at 181-2/55.23m.
Marin Barras also had a strong performance in the hammer, finishing sixth at 170-0/51.83m. Also in the hammer was Laila Guy who finished 14th with a throw of 156-5/ 47.68m. Oliver Jack was 12th in the men's hammer at 167-8/51.10m before capping the night in the discus at 145-11/44.49m in 22nd place.
Louisiana begins day two at 10:30 a.m. with the men's javelin before track events begin at 1:25 p.m. with hurdles.
