Louisiana Set To Host Northwestern State, Louisiana Tech In Midweek Baseball

LAFAYETTE – Coming off a three-game sweep of James Madison last weekend, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team continues its nine-game homestand beginning on Tuesday when it hosts Northwestern State at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.

First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live stats available at CajunStats.com.

Following its lone contest of the season against Northwestern State (18-9), the Ragin' Cajuns will face another North Louisiana foe – Louisiana Tech (17-11) – on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Louisiana (14-15) claimed a three-game Sun Belt Conference series over JMU to move into a tie for second place in the league standings after the first three weekends. Tate Hess, Blake McGehee and JR Tollett posted victories on the mound for the Ragin' Cajuns with freshman Wil Taylor becoming the eighth different pitcher this season to post a save.

Conor Higgs continued his impressive season for Louisiana with a pair of triples and a 417-foot homer against the Dukes while leading the team in average (.351), home runs (10), and RBI (21).

Loreauville native Riley Marcotte (0-0, 3.45 ERA) will make his second career start on the mound for Louisiana with NSU countering with right-hander Kevin Robinson (5-0, 3.94 ERA).
