Admission is $10 (cash only); first of three home scrimmages for Ragin' Cajuns

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana plays its second of four fall baseball scrimmages on Friday when it hosts in-state opponent Northwestern State in a 12-inning contest at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.

First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. The scrimmage is the first of three hosted by Louisiana this month with the Ragin' Cajuns also facing McNeese State (October 24) and Lamar (October 30). Admission to all home scrimmages is $10 (cash only) per event with all proceeds benefitting the UL Diamond Club.

Louisiana opened its fall schedule on October 3 with a 12-inning contest at Nicholls. The Ragin' Cajuns took advantage of Fall Break on campus last weekend with a trip to the Dominican Republic that included competition and service.

The Ragin' Cajuns finished 41-25 overall last season, reaching the championship game of the NCAA Starkville Regional. Louisiana returns 10 of its top 12 hitters from last season, including 2026 Freshman All-American Colt Brown (.314-8-53), Lee Amedee (.300-7-54) and Noah Lewis (.297-3-19).

Ty Roman (4-4, 4.83 ERA) and Sawyer Pruitt (7-5, 5.21 ERA) are two of the Cajuns' most experienced pitchers returning along with relievers Parker Smith (4-3, 3.17 ERA), Hayden Pearson (1-0, 3.74 ERA), JR Tollett (4-4, 8.14 ERA) and Garret Carter (1-1, 8.81 ERA).

SUPPORT THE FRIENDS OF TONY ROBICHAUX FUND
Louisiana Athletics and the Ragin' Cajuns Athletic Foundation (RCAF) have launched the Friends of Tony Robichaux Fund, a $5 million fundraising campaign that will directly support Louisiana Baseball while honoring the enduring legacy of the winningest Division I baseball coach in Louisiana collegiate history.

As part of the initiative, Louisiana Athletics will name its baseball complex Tony Robichaux Park in honor of the legendary coach whose impact on Louisiana Baseball extended well beyond the field.

The Friends of Tony Robichaux Fund will carry that legacy forward by providing direct support for Louisiana Baseball and helping ensure future generations of Ragin' Cajuns have the opportunity to experience the same program Robichaux worked tirelessly to build.

The $5 million campaign provides an opportunity for former players, coaches, alumni, supporters and friends of Louisiana Baseball to honor Robichaux's legacy while investing in the future of the program he helped shape.

To honor Coach Robichaux and support the future of Louisiana Baseball, make a gift to the Friends of Tony Robichaux Fund.

For information about multi-year pledges or other ways to support the campaign, contact Trevor Starcher with the RCAF at trevor.starcher@louisiana.edu or 337-482-1455.
