The Ragin’ Cajuns are 4-0 at home this season
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana men's tennis team returns to Lafayette for their home Sun Belt Conference opener as they host Georgia State on Sunday at Cajun Courts. It is also Kid's Day with free food and giveaways for the kids as well as a post-match autograph session with the team.
Louisiana cruised to a conference opening victory over Southern Miss last Sunday in Hattiesburg. The Cajuns swept the Golden Eagles with Oriol Fillat Gimenez, William Jade, and Samuel Kyjaci coming away with singles victories. For Fillat Gimenez and Kyjaci, it was their seventh singles victories of the year while Jade picked up win number six of his collegiate career.
Georgia State comes into Sunday with a 5-8 record but are 2-1 in conference play, with wins over James Madison and Southern Miss. This has been a close rivalry in recent seasons with four of the last six going in favor of the Panthers by a score of 4-3. The Cajuns are 2-3 all-time at home in the series, including a 4-1 win back in 2022.
Next weekend the Ragin' Cajuns hit the road to face Georgia Southern on Saturday before facing Coastal Carolina on Sunday.
