The Ragin' Cajuns opened the homestand last Friday (March 20) with a 4-0 sweep of Alcorn, collecting three decisive straight-set wins in singles play to secure the shutout.

Louisiana has lost only one match in both doubles and singles play this season at Cajun Courts.

Darius Balan leads the squad with a 7-6 singles record in dual matches, including wins in four of his last six outings. Gianluca Filoramo has also been steady in the lineup, posting a 6-3 singles mark, highlighted by a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the Alcorn match.

Nikola Kolyachev has delivered one of the team's most efficient records, going 5-2 in singles play, while Samuel Kyjaci owns a 6-5 record and has contributed wins across multiple lineup positions this spring.

Louisiana has received consistent results in doubles play, where the team holds a 20-14 overall record. The No. 1 tandem of Mason Landreth and Leonard Tramolay leads the way with an 8-5 mark and enters Thursday's match on a three-match winning streak.

Nicholls has lost seven straight matches, a streak that dates back to the Colonels last trip to the Acadiana area back on February 26 to face LSU at the Youngsville Sports Complex. Felipe Spagnuolo leads all players with five victories in singles play while also teaming up with Mateo De Los Santos to form the Colonel's top doubles squad with a 6-4 mark on Court 2.

Thursday's meeting marks the first matchup between Louisiana and Nicholls since February 2023, when the two teams last met at Cajun Courts. The Ragin' Cajuns have controlled the recent series, winning four straight contests against the Colonels and seven of the last eight meetings dating back to the 2006 season.
